I'm Jamie.
Idaho based photographer--born & raised. The mountains are my happy place. I specialize in nature photography of all sorts. Mainly, landscape with a bit of perspective. However, I enjoy capturing a bit of everything. I'm totally into those incredibly detailed macro shots! Give me a beautiful sunset, a star-lit sky, a creepy beetle, a foggy forrest, a beaming lake, a couple in love, a flourishing bloom on a spring day...I simply love the idea of freezing a memory in time to be relived again & again for generations to come. Like many photogs, this is my creative outlet. I started really honing in on my craft in 2019. The picture of me in the hotsprings is from that year...The year that started it all. I had loved taking pictures since about 2002, but never thought I could be a "photographer" per se. Once I removed that brain block & started believing in myself, I excelled. Since then I have maximized my camera & lens collection substantially! Currently, my favorite set up is my Mark 5DIII in conjunction with my 70-200 f 2.8! I get some pretty sick shots with that combo. That perfect shot gives me the biggest dopamine rush. I've been featured in the Mountain America calendar, the Valley-Wide Co-op calendar, & have won many awards for my pictures. There is ALWAYS plenty of room for growth! Accomplishing each goal I set for myself tells me that by following my passion, people are seeing that passion pour through my creations. This inspires me to keep growing as a photographer & living out my dream. Nature is metal. I'm an adventuring wanderlust with so many places on my bucket list! I've been raising my own little herd of explorers since I was 19. My two oldest are 13 & my youngest is 6. All girls. :) My youngest loves taking pictures with mama. We go on many adventures together to have mommy daughter picture days. She's the sweetest. I created this portfolio so that people from all walks of life were able to have a collective area to view some of my favorite work! I don't think I could ever get enough of the sky...The shows it puts on never cease to amaze me. I will forever be the woman who stops to admire unique cloud formations & jaw-dropping sunsets; as well as the woman who stands outside in 80 MPH winds and a monsoon just to capture the lightning. THE SKY IS MAGICAL.
This is a homework assignment my youngest did in first grade...She likes to go and help her mom take "pickshreis". Adorable. I framed this.
Florals
One of my favorite things to snap pictures of are flowers. They are all so unique & dreamy to look at. I prefer a lot of color in my images & flowers are an easy, colorful shot. They pose so effortlessly. Easiest subjects EVER! The daisy picture (pictured above) is one of my favorite images I've ever taken. It has won many awards, but most importantly the memory behind the picture holds dear to my heart.
A tidbit from Spring 2023
Did I mention I like to draw too? I find myself creating art in so many different ways. I just like to create...I even enjoy making my food look pretty! Haha. However, unlike most of my generation, I absolutely despise content creating!
